Lots of clients have been asking me to teach them what I do. Here's the deal: What I do involves lots of chemistry, biochemistry, and physiology... and even though there was a time I thought I was working toward becoming a biology professor, I'm not really interested in teaching that part.
I'm thinking that what people really want to know is how to work with their own bodies. And that's a really good question.
I've thought a great deal about this and I realized that the most healing thing for me in my own journey, was the awareness that we are so much more than our physical bodies. I noticed that am my body, but also my emotions, thoughts, beliefs, ancestry, and culture... and so many more things than that. When I finally understood that these non-physical parts of me had a huge influence on how my body functions, and that I had the power to choose that influence... THAT'S when I started healing.
Sacred Biology is my term for the wholeness and completeness of who we are that includes our physical bodies, as well as the influences of our thoughts, feelings, experiences, lineage, and culture. It refers to the interaction between the sacred nature of the non-physical and our somatic reality. That is, it's the bridge between your physical body and your energetic body.
Access to how the body and the subtle realms influence one another depends on four things:
1) Attention and Awareness (I know that's two things... but they are related, opposite sides of one coin, if you will): Attention is the energy we offer to an object when we focus on it, and awareness is receiving information from that object in return for our attention. 2) Grounding refers to reference points that anchor us in who we are and where we belong. 3) Boundaries boil down to who we are and who we aren't. They define us, reflect our choices, and are reinforced by our emotions. 4) Intuition. This is the ability to hear the body + the subtle realms speaking to you, informing you of what is needed and wanted. It is the mailbox in which you receive invitations from the wholeness of who you are.
This is an introductory course in the basics of what you need to know to begin to work with your own body around healing and well-being. At the end of the course you will have tools for cultivating the four pillars of access to your own body's innate wisdom.
WHO: This is for you if - you want to be active in your own healing - you desire to feel empowered around how your body functions instead of at the mercy of how it functions - you want your body to be your ally - you would like to have a better relationship with your body - you've always believed that your thoughts, emotions, and body were connected - you want to empower yourself around your ability to restore health and well-being to your own body - you would like to trust your body to be functioning in your best interests
WHY: Because it's important to know ourselves, so that we can interact with our bodies and minds to create the very best life we can. Our well-being, vitality, and happiness depend on it.
WHAT: A circle that will create sacred space together, so that we can begin to understand ourselves differently, with the intention of finding greater ease, well-being, and health.
